Les paradoxes et le savoir, étude historique, épistémologique et logique

Abstract : We study discourse production about paradoxes in western intellectual area. We show that paradoxes can be classified in three categories, relevant to discourse attitude, history of science and logic. We decompose the paradox discourse into three parts : situation, derivation of contradiction, conclusions. For each paradox, there is a disjunction between reasoning and cognitive satisfaction. Depending on the part of the paradox in which this disjunction takes place, the paradox belongs to one of the three categories: "paracosmy", "paralogy", "paradoxy".
