Modélisation des écoulements cavitants dans les inducteurs de turbopompes : prise en compte des effets thermodynamiques

Abstract : To increase the performances of the cryogenic rocket engine turbopumps, and to better understand cavitation phenomena which appear in the first stage of the pump, we implemented a cavitation model taking into account thermodynamic effects in the CFD software Fine TM /Turbo. Modelisation of cryogenic cavitating flows in turbomachinery, is an important stake due to different physical problems needed to be addressed. The flow is turbulent, unsteady, both incompressible in the pure liquid and compressible in diphasic area, with phase changes and energy exchanges, in a rotating frame. After a first validation in a venturi geometry of our model based on an homogeneous approach of multiphase flows, the cavitation head drop of an inducer in hydrogen was obtained, and shows good results in comparison to experimental data.
