LE RAPPORT SUBJECTIF AU TRAVAIL EN GUADELOUPE. Analyse de l'incidence de l'héritage de l'esclavage sur les conduites actuelles des salariés dans l'hôtellerie

Abstract : This thesis is based upon the observation of resistance conducts adopted by salaries workers, that has been often considered as “natural” in Guadeloupe. On of the essential principles of the theory involved in work psychodynamics is precisely that every conduct has a sense. This helped us to initiate a comprehensive approach of the worker’s conducts in the hotel business sector. Our investigation was not limited to the work level. In opposition to the defensive strategies analyzed up to now by PDT, these conducts, that where finally defensive, didn’t depend on the gender for example and seemed to be part of an overwhole resistance to domination in all its aspects. As such, we emphasized the existence of a specific process between adults and children, that has not yet been described up to now, and that could play a major role in the reproduction of dominative relationships. We will name this process ‘assignation by the color of skin’ as it has a number of common features with the process described by Jean Laplanche named ‘assignation of gender’. The analysis of the interrelation between the various aspects of domination and their reproduction in the work field and the family field appeared to be complex. This complexity may be at the origin of ‘naturalization’ as a simple interpretation of resisting conducts. Naturalization, becoming then, as a result, an obstacle to the various attempts to transform and improve work organization in firms.
