The risks of soils and waters losses in the Doubégué catchment area (Burkina Faso): for an integrated Management.
Les risques de pertes en terre et en eau dans le bassin versant de la Doubégué (Burkina Faso) : pour une gestion intégrée
Résumé
The Doubégué catchment area (500 km2) belongs to the Bagré Lake catchment, wich is the main dam in Burkina-Faso. The agro-pastoral activies dominate in the region, which experienced profound modifications during the last thirty years : ranking from the physical sphere (climate change) to the human prevailing one (new populations, new activities,building of a dam, and a creation of a lake, exacerbation of the conflicts, agrarian and decentralization reforms).These changes had thus important repercussions on the physical and human environment, to the point that they modified the landscape of this region in Burkina Faso. This thesis attempts then to understand the processes which have been and are still currently running in this catchment area in the region Central-East, by leaning on relevant studies from both “hard” and social sciences. So, it draws up an inventory of the land use, the types of current erosionphenomena and of turbides presence in Doubégué catchment area. The turbidity is also an indicator of the risk for their health encountered by the populations. Meanwhile, this thesis has for objective to take into account and to know on one hand how the populations are aware of the current processes modifying the resources such as vegetation, lands and water, and on the other hand the solutions applied and wished by the population. Eventually, this thesis aimsat the implementation of solution to reach an integrated Management in the Doubégué catchment area. These solutions have to be sustainable to protect the environmental and to help also the socioeconomic development of this region in the Bissa Country.
Le bassin versant de la Doubégué (500 km2) appartient au bassin du lac de Bagré, principal barrage burkinabé. Cette région où prédominent les activités agro-pastorales a connu au cours des trente dernières années de profondes modifications relevant de la sphère physique (péjoration climatique) et principalement humaines (arrivée de nouvelles populations, activités inédites, mise en eau d’un lac de barrage, exacerbation des conflits, réforme agraire et décentralisation).Ces changements ont alors eu d’importantes répercussions sur l’environnement physique et humain, au point de modifier le paysage de cette région burkinabée. Cette thèse s’attache alors à comprendre les processus qui ont eu et qui ont encore cours dans ce bassin versant de la région Centre-Est, en s’appuyant sur des études relevant des sciences « dures » et des sciences sociales. Ainsi, elle dresse un état des lieux de l’occupation des sols, des formes de phénomènes érosifs en cours et de la présence de turbides dans le bassin versant de la Doubégué. La turbidité est également un indicateur des risques sanitaires encourus par les populations. Parallèlement, cette thèse a pour objectif de prendre en compte et de connaître d’une part comment les populations ont conscience des processus en cours modifiant les ressources que sont la végétation, les terres et l’eau, et d’autre part les solutions appliquées etdésirées par ces dernières. En définitive, cette thèse a comme objectif final, la mise en place de solutions afin d’atteindre une gestion intégrée de ce bassin versant. Elles doivent s’inscrire dans la durabilité et ainsi répondre à la protection de l’environnement mais aussi au développement socio-économique de cette région du Pays Bissa.
