FEMTOSECOND STUDY OF THE OPTICAL STARK EFFECT IN MULTIPLE QUANTUM WELL STRUCTURES

Résumé

Excitonic resonances in MQWS can be strongly affected by exciting the semiconductor in the transparency region. This optical Stark effect shows up as a blue shift of the excitonic lines associated with a reduction of the oscillator strenght and is apparent only while the electromagnetic field is present. We have studied the dependence of this shift as a function of intensity and showed in particular how its saturation is related to the oscillator strength reduction.
