Theory of the dynamics of spreading of liquids on fibers

We present a theoretical investigation of the spreading of a non-volatile liquid on a solid cylinder. We first derive the laws for the dynamics of the formation of the meniscus and we then focus particularly on the growth of microscopic films due to long range interactions between solid and liquid.
