La cohabitation de dispositions contradictoires chez un individu ayant fait l’expérience de grandes mobilités sociales et géographiques

Abstract : An individual could experience a mobility, or even an exile, not only through the immigration, but also, without leaving his country nor his city, by changing his social position. This could be the case of a member of a society like Iran, which has experienced fast and brutal changes. Iran in the twentieth century has seen several transformations in the field of power, and several changes in the social structure. Due to this history, in which social positions could have been disrupted comparatively rapidly, an individual may have faced great social and geographical mobility. Which strategies an individual who lived in such mobility uses to acquire or to preserve his symbolic, economic and cultural capital? How the new socializing contexts that he has to attend, change his habits? How he learns to live with heterogeneous or even contradictory dispositions, born in this crisis? Besides, how he lives his distances with the dominant legitimate culture in society? In this article, we use four sociological portraits to highlight the impact of social and spatial mobility on the individual disposition in the contemporary Iranian society.
