LE CONTROLE SOCIAL DES VOTES : REPROCHES DES PROCHES ET REPROBATION PUBLIQUE

We consider as an hypothesis that opinions and votes, interacting with other processes, depend upon social control. Secondary analysis of the CEVIPOF survey put on the field after the 2012 presidential ballot in France allows us to show how interviewees perceive on one hand the control of close relations, on the other hand the public disapproval. The first seemed much more efficient than the second because to perceive a public disapproval does not prevent to vote for the candidate who is « often pointed by finger ». That challenge is huge among Marine Le Pen supporters, and very frequent among voters for Sarkozy. Perception of a public disapproval is much more frequent among interviewees who declare anti-immigration political options, and others very right wind choices. We show that, according to various relational structures, the control of close relations can aim varied purposes and we suppose that it is exercised by exchanging resources for the vote.

Nous examinons l'hypothèse que les opinions et les votes pourraient, en interaction avec d'autres processus, dépendre du contrôle social qui s'exerce sur les acteurs. Une analyse secondaire de l'enquête du CEVIPOF suivant les présidentielles de 2012 permet de montrer comment les enquêtés perçoivent d'une part le contrôle des proches et d'autre part la réprobation publique. Celui-ci paraît beaucoup plus prégnant que celle-là, car percevoir une réprobation publique n'empêche pas de voter pour la personne « souvent montrée du doigt ». Ce défi est massif chez les partisans de Marine Le Pen et très fréquent chez les sarkozistes. La perception d'une réprobation concerne principalement des enquêtés affichant des options anti-immigrés, et globalement très droitière. On montre que, selon différentes structures relationnelles, le contrôle des proches peut répondre à des finalités variées et on suppose qu'il est exercé en échangeant des ressources contre le vote.
