Protection d'une structure face à une onde de souffle avec isolant thermique et bardage rapportés : Caractérisation des isolants et modélisation simplifiée de l'effet protecteur

Abstract : The protection of industrial buildings from blast waves, whether accidental or malicious, is an important subject of concern. One solution to protect these buildings is to use thermal insulating materials that can absorb energy by deformation, also allowing to answer the Thermal Regulation 2020. In this paper, we describe the mechanical behavior of insulating materials commonly used in France and we develop a simple tool to evaluate the dissipative capacity of a cladding composed of a rigid cladding and an insulating material, protecting a structure. This modeling shows that if a mitigation effect is possible, its effectiveness will depend on both the signature of the blast loading and the physical and geometric characteristics of the protection system. These cases are highlighted in this work and are based on the regulations and standards in effect.
