La nature, concept opératoire des luttes écologistes
Résumé
The concept of nature, although rejected by certain currents in philosophy and social sciences, remains a central referent in ecological struggles. This article aims to defend the importance of a nature/artifice distinction for the interpretation of ecological problems. The concept should be seen primarily as an analytical tool for interpreting distinctions that are essential for political action. It will try to respond to some objections to the use of this concept, which some denounce as specifically Western, excessively dualistic or inapplicable at the time of the Anthropocene. It will then explain why competing concepts such as biodiversity or ecosystem services seem to offer less scope for resisting the industrial artificialization of the world.
