Magnetic properties and Barkhausen noise evolution during FeSiCuNbB nanocrystalline material aging

Résumé

The use of compact electrical systems in aircraft applications and the automotive industry is promoted to increase energy efficiency. The reduction in mass and volume of electrical systems exposes magnetic components to high temperatures and degrades their properties over time. This paper investigated the thermal aging of different grades of FeSiCuNbB nanocrystalline materials. Aging evolution was analyzed by monitoring macroscopic magnetic properties. Furthermore, magnetic Barkhausen noise measurements were performed to investigate the domain pattern microstructure and domain wall movements during aging.
