Quantitative Spectroscopy with FLAMES

Starting from the experience gained in these years with FLAMES observations I shall summarise some of the lessons learnt in preparing and conducting observations with this facility. Finally I will talk about my approach to the analysis of FLAMES data focusing on aspects which are peculiar to this facility with respect to other spectrographs.
