Analyse macroscopique des variations et modulations de F0 en lecture dans la maladie de Parkinson : données sur 320 locuteurs

Abstract : People with Parkinson’s disease (PD) usually suffer from laryngeal disorders involving fundamental frequency (F0) abnormalities. Despite the large number of studies of F0 on PD patients, no global consensus exists regarding the effects of this disease. This study aims to clarify these effects using a large corpora of read speech containing 320 speakers. The results show an increase in F0 for PD men compared to controls. A decrease in F0 variations is also observed for the patients regardless of gender. We also studied the effect of dopaminergic treatment inducing a slight increase in F0 and reducing the loss of F0 modulations in severely affected patients. Patient age appears to have the same impact on F0 in PD and healthy individuals. Our results are in partial agreement with pathophysiological models and contradict in some aspects studies done on smaller corpora.
