TERRITORIAL DEVELOPMENT APPROACHES AND PHILANTHROPIC GRANT-MAKING FOUNDATIONS: WHAT ARE THE ISSUES OF RELATIONAL PROXIMITY? Philanthropic grant-making foundations now play a major role in supporting territorial development initiatives, partially compensating for the decline in state resources in this area. The relationship of the philanthropic organizations concerned with these approaches is complex. A repositioning of some of them towards a closer relationship with their donees raises several issues. This article explores the new roles and postures of philanthropic grant-making foundations from the perspective of proximity.

Les fondations philanthropiques subventionnaires occupent aujourd’hui un rôle prépondérant dans le soutien aux démarches de développement territorial, palliant partiellement la décroissance des ressources étatiques dans ce domaine. Les rapports des organisations philanthropiques concernées avec ces démarches sont complexes. Un repositionnement de certaines d’entre elles vers une plus grande proximité relationnelle avec leurs donataires soulève plusieurs enjeux. Cet article explore les nouveaux rôles et postures des fondations philanthropiques subventionnaires sous l'angle de la proximité.
