Les celtes au prisme des nouvelles techniques d'imagerie numérique. L’exemple des moules à alvéoles et des décors gravés de fourreaux d’épée

Abstract : The development of digital imaging techniques over the last decade has considerably renewed the range of tools available to archaeologists and art historians, opening up new research perspectives. These non-destructive techniques are radically transforming the way we approach the study of archaeological objects. If access to these tools contributes to a better understanding of the Celtic craft knowledge, it also has an impact on archaeological practice itself. These techniques lead to multiple exploitations, for research, archiving and valorisation. 3D modelling does not only consist in the realization of beautiful volumetric constructions, it also offers tools for a more technical or archaeometric approach. To illustrate the innovative methods developed within the Umr AOrOc, we will focus here on two examples that show some of the tools used to answer the questions of archaeologists about alveolar moulds on the one hand, and the reading of sword scabbard decorations on the other hand.
