The process of creolization is linked to the movements of globalization that have occurred with the processes of colonization since the seventeenth century. Populations were displaced and disseminated, and their social and cultural worlds coexisted with new ones, often intermingling. This gave rise to unique socio-anthropological patterns on the level of both tangible and intangible cultures and in ways of living together. Within certain limits, the concept offers rich perspectives for analyzing contemporary human mobilities and their social and cultural configurations and recompositions.
