Towards a Possibilistic Approach for Information Retrieval

This paper proposes basic steps towards an Information Retrieval Model based on possibility and necessity measures. This model encodes relationship dependencies existing between terms and documents through naïve possibilisitic networks and quantifies these relationships by two measures: possibility and necessity. The retrieved documents are those which are necessarily or possibly relevant given a user's query.
