[Recension de] Christiane Nord (2020). La Traduction : une activité ciblée. Introduction aux approches fonctionnalistes. Liège : Presses universitaires de Liège, 200 p.

Abstract : This book by Christiane Nord tackles translation as a purposeful activity and portrays the translator as a purpose-driven, result-oriented professional. From the cover image showing Heracles targeting birds over Lake Stymphalia, the book explores the goal(s) of both translation and translators from a functionalist perspective. It equally provides for a critical thinking in different spheres-including translation as an act of communication or a mediation.
