The walls of these monuments were reconstructed by A. Garric, at the open-air museum of Karnak, following the plan proposed as a hypothesis by J. Fr. Carlotti and L. Gabolde. However, the observation of the blocks reconstructing the decorated faces of the walls makes it possible to propose a new arrangement, the plan of which adapts to the surface delimited today by the podium of Hatshepsut. Thus appear the predecessors of the north and south rooms of the queen, located on each side of the hard limestone bark chapel which preceded the Red Chapel. The remains of niches make it possible to reconstruct, the location of the 6th pylon and its western enclosure wall, an older pylon on which Thutmose II, Hatshepsut and Neferourê are represented without anything preventing Thutmose III being also represented. Thus the monument initially built by Amenhotep I between the so-called Middle Kingdom court and what will become the 6th pylon was replaced by two other monuments which succeeded one another in the same place: the limestone one of Thutmose II-Hatshepsut-Thutmose III, replaced by a new sandstone ensemble built by Maâtkarê-Thoumosis III. There are therefore five bark chapels protected by a double roof which followed one another in the same place: the first was the chapel of local limestone of Amenhotep I, followed by the chapel of hard limestone of Thutmose II-Hatshepsout-Thutmose III; the latter gave way to the Red Chapel which Thoutmosis III replaced by its granite chapel; finally, a millennium later, a new granite chapel in the name of Philippe Arrhidée was built on the same site.
