« Devenir adulte » en contexte migratoire : le cas des étudiants diplômés chinois en France

Abstract : Based on two comparative field studies, this article offers a typology of youth transition in order to analyse the socially differentiated trajectories of Chinese students graduating in France, after their university studies. It shows the impact of the dominant norms of Chinese society that weigh on young Chinese students overseas, but also the impact of the processes of reconfiguring social norms in a migration context. Chinese graduates build their professional, familial, and migratory trajectories by navigating between different systems of reference and normative requirements that are sometimes contradictory.
