THRILLING: AN APPLICATION OF THREAD MILLING PROCESS

This paper presents an application of thread milling and drilling models for prediction of forces generated by thrilling tools. The chip thickness and cutting force models are developed considering the unique geometry of the tool. The mechanics of cutting for drilling is applied for the first stage of cut and the thread milling model is applied on a helical path.
