Converging technologies, or “néotechnologies” (new technologies), are those which constitute the new field of NBIC: Nano-Bio-Info-Cogno-Tech. They are the subject of all the hopes, fears, and acts of resistance that correspond to the moral positions developed and promoted by experts, users, observers, or simple spectators facing the exponential development of these technologies.
These positions can be schematically divided into four main trends, which are themselves modified by the ethical value that individuals attribute to the application of these new technologies.
