Résumé

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a family of porous materials consisting of unique structural features such as large surface area, wide physicochemical tunability, and substantial stability. These properties make MOFs of wide interest for numerous applications ranging from energy storage devices and batteries, to sensors, and catalysis. These materials not only possess unique properties but can act as promising precursors for the synthesis of other carbon forms. This book chapter aims to group together the significant work reported in the last years on MOFs derived carbon (graphene and carbon nanotubes) and MOF-carbon composite materials with a special emphasis on the use of these nanostructures for energy storage devices (supercapacitors).
