ANTI-UTILITARY AND POST-COLONIAL APPROACHES APPLIED TO ECONOMIES AND PEASANT SOCIETIES
ENFOQUES ANTI-UTILITARISTAS E PÓS-COLONIAIS APLICADOS A ECONOMIAS E SOCIEDADES CAMPONESAS
Résumé
Several socio-economic approaches associate peasant agricultures to production and redistribution systems based on other conceptions of value than this of market exchange. This paper examines three proposals from diverse backgrounds but sharing a common analysis of peasant farming around the notions of ethics, affection, autonomy and resistance. There are the moral economy of Scott (1976), the economy of affection of Hyden (1980) and the peasant principle of Ploeg (2008). These three authors also refer to the principle of reciprocity; thus, I propose first to examine these three approaches and how they could dialogue. Secondly I’ll analyze their contribution regarding the theory of reciprocity in anthropology (SCUBLA, 1985; TEMPLE, 1997, 2003).
Vários enfoques socioeconômicos associam agriculturas camponesas a sistemas de produção e redistribuição fundados em outras concepções do valor que aquela do valor de troca mercantil. O artigo examina três propostas de diversas origens que compartem uma analise comum das agriculturas camponesas em torno das noções de ética, afeição, autonomia e resistência. Trata-se da Economia moral de Scott (1976), da Economia da Afeição de Hyden (1980) e do principio camponês de Ploeg (2008). Esses três autores se referem também ao principio de reciprocidade. Proponho primeiro de examinar esses três enfoques e como podem dialogar entre eles. Em segundo lugar analiso a sua contribuição em relação com a teoria da reciprocidade em antropologia (SCUBLA, 1985; TEMPLE, 1997, 2003).
