Résumé
The aim of this study is to contribute to our current knowledge of the first occurrence of ferrous objects in the western
Mediterranean. We concentrate on the study of knives, as they are the most abundant objects for this period (9th-7th
centuries BC). Typological analysis indicates that most of the objects studied appear to come from other regions of the
Mediterranean, specifically in the east. Few seem to have originated in the central Mediterranean and links with continental
Europe are either very limited or imperceptible.
