Abstract : For the last few years, international programmes of pupil assessment have impacted research about literacy. One of the most important of these programmes is the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). Every three years, it tests students’ literacy, understood as a situated and a contextualised practice. Our paper aims to describe this conception of literacy in the PISA with a critical perspective drawing on a didactical approach. For this purpose, we analyse the theoretical framework of the PISA and its operationalisation in a scientific literacy exercise.
