Bootcamps as Innovative Approach for Disseminating Remanufacturing in Circular Economy

Résumé

This study is part of a European project supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). It is motivated by the fact that Europe is currently reworking only 2% of products and that the concept of remanufacturing remains poorly known. To disseminate this concept in industry, it is necessary to develop the skills of companies' staff, especially in small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, in order to foster circular economy and improve product design within sustainable innovation perspective. Bootcamps were considered as an effective new learning approach to reach this target. This paper gives insights into the CARED project achievements, shares the project partners' experiences and raises awareness for the importance of engaging stakeholders for the purpose of understanding remanufacturing challenges in terms of product, process and organisation innovation.
