Physical investigation of square cylinder array dynamical response under single-phase cross-flow

Fluid structure interaction and flow-induced vibration in square cylinder arrangement under single-phase incompressible laminar cross flow are investigated in the present paper. Dynamic instability governed by damping generation is studied without any consideration about mixing with turbulence effects. Conservative and non-conservative effects are pointed out and dynamical stability limit sensitivity to physical parameters is analyzed. Finally the influence of key physical parameters on fluid solid dynamics interaction is quantified.
