The anthropological phenomenon of fandeo or vodiondry will serve here as an illustration of the place of Malagasy culture in the knowledge of social practices from the perspective of the gender approach. It is undeniable that from different sources, notably Austronesian and African, Malagasy culture has imposed itself by the adoption of a single language with varieties in perfect intercomprehension, which is a mathematical singularity of a rare linguistic situation. In other words, the unique grammar of the Malagasy language is built a culture on the basis of shared knowledge. From this point of view, culture can be understood as a device recorded in a ritual discourse in order to enable the cultural group to fight against chaos; any culture is a prescription against the violence of nature. By this function, any culture is intercultural in that it determines the human way of passing the time - which is just passing - by adopting a ritual that aspires to be repeated indefinitely. It follows that culture is also a way of taming the extreme violence of death. By telling us what to do to avoid violence, culture assures us that each generation can safely travel the distance between birth and death. This is the human way of passing the time whose center of gravity happens to be the "Fandeo ». Fandeo is a cultural practice. It intervenes at the height of youth for reproductive purposes in order to perpetuate lineage. It determines the relationship between man and woman. Some anthropologists, despite the glaring contradiction, think that fandeo is the price of women. According to this interpretation, the man would appropriate a woman as a car or a house. This opens the way to violence against women, especially as other factors, such as man local residence, intervene. If this is true, then we fall into a case of proven pimping. Our analysis aims to show, on the contrary, that fandeo is a cultural device militant against violence that could be made to women by presenting itself as a lifting of the prohibition of incest since the first relationship of a boy and a girl is that of a sibling.
