Le bocage de la plaine de Bourg-d'Oisans : de la connaissance de son évolution à sa gestion dans le cadre d'un plan local de gestion de l'espace

Abstract : Bourg d'Oisans is located in the South-East of the Isere department. The hedgerow network of this old marshy plain is closely related to the draining canals network built in 19th century plain. The hedgerow network is due to its draining and windbreak functions which generate a dense and geometrical network. The study of hedgerow network history based on 1956 and 1998 aerials photographs and the hedge typology show that the network decline and is partially broken down. Neverless its ecological and landscape qualities are yet important. The decline is due to agricultural (agricultural abandonment and intensification too) and the urban evolutions. The extensive agriculture (meadows) produced a rich area (designated in Natura 2000 network). Our research conclued that extensive agriculture and that management of the hedgerow network are necessary to protect the biodiversity. Cemagref applied this concretely in the local management planning in concertation with farmers and nature protection objectives. We proposed concrete measures for restoration of hedgerow network.
