ICT evolutions: which consequences for mathematics teaching?
Résumé
The use of technologies for teaching and learning mathematics from Kindergarten to University has been a major subject for research in mathematics education for many years. The technologies have tremendously evolved during these last years: in many countries schools use virtual learning environments; students work in class with mobile devices like tablets ; an abundance of online resources, including e-textbooks, is available on the Internet for teachers. What are the consequences of these evolutions for mathematics teaching and more generally for mathematics teachers’ work?
In this talk I will present some answers to this question, drawing on different recent research projects.
