Interpersonal networks for business intelligence: The Case of the People’s Republic of China

Résumé

Business intelligence is a system of knowledge and influence that is largely based on access to information and the quality of relationships developed. This system, recently developed in the Occident, has been successfully used between countries with similar cultures. What happens, however, when firms work in a context where messages are implicit and relational logic is gregarious? Using the example of China, this article aims to illustrate the necessary adaptation of business intelligence for operations undertaken on the international level and the relevance of guanxi to build such a system.
