A complete modelling of the series-resonant converter in ZCS mode
Résumé
In most cases, the series-resonant power converter is equipped with snubbers to reduce switching losses. These auxiliary circuits, which lead to an increase of the circuit order, also fundamentally modify the operation and the characteristics of the series-resonant converter. This paper presents a complete modelling of nonreversible series-resonant converters operating in thyristor mode (ZCS) equipped with snubbers both on the inverter side (inductors) and on the rectifier side (capacitors). Based on the representation of the state plane, this analytical study characterizes the steady state operation of the converter and determines the main component stresses. The results of these analytical studies are integrated into software which constitutes a powerful tool to design the converter
