Crônicas sobre a Segunda Guerra Mundial: Sílvia de Bittencourt (Majoy) e o lirismo de Seguindo a Primavera
Résumé
This article addresses Sílvia de Bittencourt’s (Majoy) Seguindo a Primavera (1951), a collection of chronicles written during the Second World War. The author was sent to Italy by a North American agency to follow the actions of the Fifth United States Army, and was, most likely, the only woman among the Brazilian journalists. Here, I intend to formalize and encourage a debate on this singular figure. Firstly, because of the almost complete oblivion regarding this author in the studies on Brazil›s participation in the war; secondly, because of the questions raised by the conception of lyricism proposed in the book.
