Recent and emerging applications of membranes processes in food and dairy industry

A few striking industrial membrane processes which represent the very recent advances in food processing are presented: crossflow microfiltration of milk for bacteria removal and casein standardization; combination of crossflow microfiltration and electrodialysis of wine for clarification, microbiological and tartaric stability. Emerging applications in other food sectors and for agro-food waste streams treatment are highlighted.
