"Tracking the ‘Enemy Within’: Alcoholisation of the Troops, Excesses in Military Order and the French Gendarmerie during the First World War"

Abstract : This paper studies the place and function of alcoholisation of the troops in the French army between 1914 and 1918. It focuses on its consequences on the relationships betwwen the soldiers and the gendarmes. Here are available the French and the English version of this paper, the latter being the one published.
