Sœurs et frères, la belle fraternelle

Abstract : Starting from the fraternal link, in double maybe, which united Sigmund Freud and Otto Rank, as well as fragments of our clinic with Ellen, our article questions, on the one hand, the specificities of twin and fraternal legends, concerning murderous and incestuous desires. On the other hand, the influence of these desires in the construction of the love link. Three essential theses are thus approached: first, the younger brother proceeds from hatred and jealousy by organizing the rivalry; second, the younger brother is a heroic figure becoming a double hated and envied; thirdly, the younger brother builds the myth of the favori, inscribing the origins of three struggles led by men for the "mother", the "sister" and the "wife". It’s therefore through a quartet of imagos counting the younger sister and brother, the double and the hero, that the love preferentially is built.
