Mutations dans l'écriture narrative contemporaine: de la fragmentation postmoderne à la poétique réticulaire dans l'oeuvre de J. Carrión, A. Fernández Mallo et V. L. Mora
Résumé
The second half of the 20th century was dominated by the postmodern paradigm, which manifested itself, among other aspects, in narrative writing, by means of a fragmented structure. At the beginning of the new millennium, the expansion of the World Wide Web seems to lead to a change of perspective and favour various aesthetic mutations, as it starts envisaging the fragment within a larger, reticular textual architecture. What counts is no longer the discontinuity between tiles but the weaving of pieces together, through links and nodes. Spanish writer Vicente Luis Mora designates this new period as “Pangea”, referring to an initial unity of the world, shattered by postmodernity and subsequently restored by the new technologies and media. As early as the 1960s, Marshall McLuhan drew attention to the shaping of the global village, a concept later updated by Manuel Castells, in his study of the network society. As regards the literary text, such socio-technological modifications favour the unfolding of narrative techniques based on patterns such as Deleuze et Guattari’s rhizome or Dällenbach’s mosaic. However, in the 21st century, one might notice the emergence of what Geneviève Champeau calls “the reticular text”. In Spanish narrative, one may find examples of such reticular writing in the works of Agustín Fernández Mallo (his Nocilla trilogy), in Mora’s novel Alba Cromm or in Jorge Carrión’s non-fictional text Crónica de viaje. The study of these literary works will serve the purpose of illustrating how 21st century narrative manages to transcend the postmodern paradigm and its aesthetics of fragmentation, and posit, in exchange, the reticular poetics of Pangea.
La segunda mitad del siglo XX fue dominada por el paradigma posmoderno, que se tradujo, entre otras cosas, en la narrativa, por una escritura fragmentada. A principios del nuevo milenio, el auge de la red telemática parece propiciar un cambio de perspectiva y ciertas mutaciones estéticas, al considerarse el fragmento en el marco de una arquitectura reticular. Lo que importa es el hilvanar de las piezas mediante enlaces y nodos, en vez de la discontinuidad entre las teselas. El escritor Vicente Luis Mora llama esta nueva época “Pangea”, al aludir a una unidad previa del mundo que la posmodernidad rompió, pero que las tecnologías y los medios más recientes han permitido reconstruir. Ya en los años 60, Marshall McLuhan apuntó la constitución de la aldea global, concepto actualizado, hacia fines del siglo, por Manuel Castells, mediante su análisis de la sociedad-red. En el ámbito del texto literario, estas modificaciones socio-tecnológicas favorecieron el desarrollo de técnicas narrativas regidas por modelos como el rizoma de Deleuze y Guattari o el mosaico teorizado por Dällenbach. Sin embargo, en el siglo XXI, surge lo que Geneviève Champeau llama “el relato reticular”. En la narrativa española, son ejemplos de obras reticulares la trilogía Nocilla de Agustín Fernández Mallo, la novela Alba Cromm del mismo Vicente Luis Mora y el relato no ficcional Crónica de viaje de Jorge Carrión. Su estudio servirá para mostrar cómo estas obras literarias superan el paradigma posmoderno y su estética del fragmento al optar por la poética reticular del mundo-Pangea.
