Abstract : Track-before-detect (TBD) algorithms make use of unthresholded measurements to perform target detection and tracking in scenarios where conventional approaches fail, as it is the case for low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions. In this paper, the track-before-detect algorithm using particle filters is applied for target detection and tracking and its performance using real-world radar data is assessed.
