Capacity-Driven Design of Clustered Array Architectures for New Generation 5G MU-MiMo Systems

Abstract : The design of clustered array architectures for next generation 5G Base Stations (BS) is here addressed. An innovative capacity-driven design methodology is formulated to design BS with clustered architectures achieving optimal capacity performances. To validate the effectiveness and to provide some insight on its potentialities, the proposed capacity-driven design approach has been applied in a real-application scenario and compared with a "classical" design methodology.
