Usures expérimentales sur quatre bâtons percés utilisés comme bloqueurs de câble

Abstract : When we experimented earlier with using perforated batons as "cable locking stops", we obtained fractures entirely similar to those on prehistoric specimens already known, though no traces of wear could be established because the experimental conditions chosen did not allow the rope to move inside the perforation. Considering the observations carried out by other authors, we tested five different types of fastening systems on the specific equipment which both kept the rope blocked and let it move in the hole to get traces of wear. The fact that these appeared more rapidly than expected leads us to conclude that their location and extent to be connected with the spear-locking system.
