Faire face à la crise économique à Detroit : les pratiques alternatives au service d'une résilience urbaine ?

Abstract : Detroit is now suffering a widespread crisis, exacerbated by the recent economic crisis of 2008. Urban policies, paralyzed by public debt can not provide answers. Reacting to an urban policy of austerity and a city that became dysfunctional, part of the civil society implemented alternative economic practices such as community gardens and dismantling ruined houses. These practices, set outside of any institution, participate more and more to create new solidarities and to strengthen communities in the districts. They are also emerging proposals for new urban models, suggesting an urban resilience for Detroit.
