QUESTÕES IDENTITÁRIAS EM TERRITÓRIOS DE ASSENTAMENTOS RURAIS DE REFORMA AGRÁRIA: O CASO DO ASSENTAMENTO REUNIDAS NO ESTADO DE SÃO PAULO

After a few decades since the first agrarian reform settlements were established it became necessary to think about the social reproduction process within the territory. Consideringthat, the objective of this article is to comprehend the social reproduction process inside the rural settlements through the analysis of the second-generation actors’ subjective motivations. Therefore it has been developed a case study in Reunidas settlement, the biggest in the state of São Paulo. The methodology used in the research was the oral history that consists in actors telling about their life stories and their projects. This article is structured in four sections: The first one brings the methodological elements. The second one brings a brief biography of the interviewees and in the third section are analyzed the actors’ speak and it is possible to realize their motivations to stay in the settlement. Through these elements the four sections demonstrates that the decision of staying in the settlement creates cultural and social transformations to the territory because the identities of these actors are re-elaborated. Thus, the final considerations point to the settlement as a territory with various experiences which are permeated by specifics culture and sociability that make possible the life projects achievement.

Passadas algumas décadas desde o estabelecimento dos primeiros assentamentos de reforma agrária surge a necessidade de pensarmos os processos de reprodução social que ocorrem no interior desse território. O objetivo do presente artigo é justamente compreender esse processo de reprodução social dentro dos Assentamentos a partir da análise das motivações subjetivas dos atores sociais da segunda geração. Para tanto foi realizado um es-tudo de caso no Assentamento Reunidas, o maior do Estado de São Paulo. A metodologia utilizada para a pesquisa foi a da história oral, onde os atores contaram suas histórias de vidas e seus projetos. O artigo está estruturado em quatro seções: A primeira traz os elementos metodológicos. A segunda traz uma breve biografia dos entrevista-dos e a seguir, na terceira seção, são articuladas as falas dos atores, onde é possível perceber suas motivações para permanecerem no assentamento. Partindo desses elementos a quarta seção busca demonstrar que a decisão de permanência ocasiona transformações culturais e sociais para o território, pois as identidades desses atores são reelaboradas. Por fim, as considerações finais apontam para o assentamento como um território de universo de vividos múltiplos permeado por uma cultura e sociabilidade específicas que possibilita a realização de projetos de vida.
