Synchronization in Networks of Identical Nonlinear Systems via Dynamic Dead Zones

Abstract : In this paper, we consider the problem of synchronization of a network of nonlinear systems with high-frequency noise affecting the exchange of information. We modify the classic (linear) diffusive coupling by adding dynamic dead zones with the aim of reducing the impact of the noise. We show that the proposed redesign preserves asymptotic synchronization if the noise is not active and we establish a desired ISS property. Simulation results show that, in the presence of noise, the dynamic dead zones highly improve the rejection properties.
