Wideband Characterization of Specific Polymers for Novel MID Antenna Applications

Résumé

RF dielectric characteristics of two thermoplastic polymers, namely ABS PC and COP, are here studied with the objective of comparing their specifications for the implementation of antennas for IoT applications. Wideband characterization of these materials is assessed in order to cover the main IoT protocols and UWB communication standard frequencies. In this paper, we are using two completely different techniques to conduct this study. The first is based on ring resonating structures allowing discrete values at resonant frequencies, while the other is the Grounded Coplanar transmission lines (GCPW TL) for continuous results determination. Analysis and discussion of the results are hereby presented.
