Résumé
NOEMA (NOrthern Extended Millimeter Array) , the successor to the Plateau du Bure observatory, will increase its sensitivity by a factor five, by doubling the number of antennas and taking avantage of recent progress in receiver building. Being the most powerful millimeter radiotelescope of theNorthern Hemisphere, it will pursue the exploration of the Universe and its evolution in a rich variety of fields and objects, from very distant young galaxies to pre-planetary circumstellar disks. It will specially focus on the observation of the interstellar matter, the formation of stars and planets and pre-biotic molecules.
