Direct Numerical Simulation of the Shock Wave Boundary Layer Interaction (SWBLI)

Résumé

An original numerical scheme (OSMP7) is used to perform direct numerical simulations of the Shock Wave Boundary Layer Interaction (SWBLI) with both an incoming laminar boundary layer and an incoming turbulent boundary layer. The comparison of these two cases tends to suggest the importance of the turbulent structures of the incoming boundary layer in triggering the unsteadiness of the SWBLI. The analyses of the dynamics of the interaction provide us with the mechanisms leading to the low frequency unsteadiness of the multiple shocks/separation bubble system.
