Abstract : An electronic nose is an instrument which is able to detect and recognize Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), meaning a compound containing carbon which easily evaporates. A new technology based on surface plasmon resonance imaging has been recently developed and has already shown promising results for detecting and discriminating a large variety of VOCs. These results have been reinforced in a preliminary study showing the discrimination of 3 VOCs with high reliability in a realistic robot scenario over several months. In this article, we improve this study by considering 12 VOCs and show thanks to experimental data that the recognition is possible.
