Participer à des développements libres, embaucher des développeurs : une stratégie commerciale ?

Abstract : FLOSS (Free/Libre/Open Source Software) has become, since some years, an important phenomenon on the market. Firms are growingly involved into development communities who can be considered as strategic assets for these companies (Dahlander & Wallin, 2006) In Jullien & Zimmermann (2006), we defend the idea that this involvement can be explained by the characteristics of the markets the firms address. In this article, we propose to test this hypothesis, thanks to a survey addressed to French speaking firms (France, Belgium, Switzerland) using FLOSS in their offers. On a basis of approximately 500 firms, we have collected 141 answers.
