Spatial cluster detection for socio-economic data

This article focuses on spatial cluster detection methods, mainly the scan methods. Weintroduce the scan scatistics and the mathematical concepts they rely on and we discuss aboutthe choice of the underlying model. Finally these methods are applied to two socio-economicdata sets.
